Discovering the Universe from the Invisible…

* The Universe unfold: the instruments to see
To Space and beyound! As astronomers developped new observation tools, we reach the outskirts of our Solar System, cross the Milky Way and find out about the immensity of the Universe. From the naked eye to 21st-century telescopes, instruments have enabled man to see farther and notice the finest details of the celestial sky.

*The Nançay Radioastronomy Instruments
Before taking a stroll outside and see these gigantic metal structures, you can see models of Nançay Radiotelescopes and find out more about these instruments: the gigantic decimetric radiotelescope, the radioheliograph as well as the decametric array.

*As research goes
Another way to discover the Universe: the pleasure of touching, experimenting, and learning while having fun. Let's find out about the basic scientific principle swhich enable scientists to do research: spectroscopy, speed of light, Doppler effect, High Time Resolution Astrophysics...

*What are we looking for?
What about life elsewhere? How was the Universe in the beginnings? How did it evolve? What is cosmology and exobiology?

*Let the scientists explain...
First, Gilles Theureau, from the Nançay Radioastronomy facility tell you all about doing research in Nançay. A second film present various points of views on doing astronomy research
